Receive Guidance From your Highest Self

This is a guided meditation intended to be used as one part of your self-development and self-care practice. Listen as I walk you through a deep breathing exercise that will help relax your body and mind and connect you with your own inner wisdom in order to gain insights directly from your highest self.

Your highest self is simply the version of you that is unbound by past experiences, subconscious beliefs, perceived limitations, fears or anxieties.

Meditation Best Practices:

The ‘observer’ perspective

It is rare that we have the opportunity to sit perfectly still without distraction. It’s for this exact reason that meditation can be so powerful. It offers us the rare opportunity to open ourselves up to our own inner wisdom. This wisdom can come in the form of thoughts, physical sensations, memories, ideas, images, colours, lights, symbols, voices, or sounds. Though it may be hard, I find it helpful to take an “observer” perspective noticing the experience without attempting to control it and without judgment.

Journaling

Following a meditation, it may be helpful to journal about what came up for you. Recording the experience and reflecting on your personal insights. This may allow you to gain a deeper understanding of the insights and guidance you are receiving and how these insights pertain to your current life or challenges.

Sharing your insights in therapy

Consider sharing these insights with your therapist. If a memory or insight came forward, it is my assumption that it came forward for a reason — you may be needing to process it, heal it or utilize it in some way. An outside perspective from a therapist can help you connect the dots and identify next steps.

Use headphones

This meditation uses binaural beats to support reduced anxiety and calming of the nervous system. It is best listened to with headphones while walking, sitting, or laying down.

Trust your intuition

If you find this meditation helpful in your self-care or self-development journey, great! Save it in your repertoir to come back to whenever you feel called.

On the other hand, if you find it’s not for you. That’s fine too! Consider trying a different style of meditation, breath work, or any other tool you feel called to. What works for some may not work for everyone.

Figuring out what works best for you may take some trial and error. Keep searching for the path that most aligns with you!
